Lube Mobile Hygiene Practices When Servicing Customers Vehicles

There is evidence that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) spreads from person to person, some reports suggest the virus can last for several days on surfaces including plastics found in vehicles.


Good hygiene can prevent infection from coronavirus as well as the common cold and flu.


With this in mind we wish to share with you what practices Lube Mobile have put in place to ensure the safety of our Customers and of our staff.


Prior to working inside a vehicle, the Lube Mobile technician will use the following procedure;


  1. The technician will check with you whether you have been overseas and ordered to comply with a self-isolation order.

  2. Disinfect car. 

  3. Disinfect hands. 

  4. Where possible avoid switching on HAVAC system (air conditioning / heater control). 


Disinfect Car

  1. Disinfect outside door handle prior to entering the vehicle. 

  2. Spray or wipe all relevant areas inside the vehicle. 

  3. Allow disinfectant to sit for up to 10mins to dry by airing out the vehicle. 

  4. Conduct works inside the vehicle.

  5. When the work is finished we will give the vehicle a final spray or wipe prior to returning the vehicle to you (including outside door handle). 


Parts of the Vehicle to be Disinfected

  1. Door handle (outside first then inside). 

  2. Steering wheel. 

  3. Radio and other control buttons and indicators. 

  4. Seat belt. 

  5. Any other areas we may need to touch when working inside the vehicle (i.e. glove box handles, drink holders, dashboard, hand brake and gears etc.) 


Disinfect Hands

  1. We will use hand sanitiser or washing of hands prior to entering the vehicle. 

  2. After completing the work we will Sanitise our hands thoroughly and close the door to the vehicle. 


Payment and Invoicing

  1. No Cash payments. Our strong preference is payment by card via the tap and go facility. 

  2. Printing of invoices and quotes will cease and we will instead email them to you.

How much does Holden service cost?

At Lube Mobile, we are open about the prices we charge for a Holden service. You can easily check on the price of your car service at the time of booking or before. For non-warranty services the prices are available on our website, for warranty services it can be difficult to show all pricing. If you’re looking for a service that is comparable to your Holden capped price servicing, you can call our customer service centre on 13 30 32, and you may be surprised at what we can offer.

In most cases a Holden dealership service can be more expensive than going through a local mechanic, this is because of the costs involved with delivering your car to them. Not only will you need to pay the prices they charge (and often it does not cover parts and lubricants), but you’ll need to consider how you’ll get home or back to work after delivering your vehicle. All of these costs add up and may equal much more than having your car serviced somewhere much closer to home.

What is included in a Holden service?

For a Holden that is still covered under warranty, we’ll need to complete a Holden service as described in your logbook. These can differ depending on the exact model of your car and what stage service the vehicle needs. Only by keeping to the schedule as laid out in your logbook can you maintain your warranty. An easy way to find out what needs to happen is to check this book. You can look through the book and find the last page that was stamped and signed by your mechanic.

If you need a Holden service on an older car that has passed its warranty period (usually over 5-7 years old). Then we’d recommend having one of our annual services completed. During the service our mobile mechanics will complete:

  • A change of engine oil and filter

  • An under-bonnet check and top-up

  • A brake and safety inspection

  • A check of the cooling and charging systems

How long does Holden service take?

In most cases, a Holden service will be completed in a little under two (2) hours. If there are problems identified that need to be fixed (we’ll call you to confirm before completing any repairs) it may take longer than usual.

When you hire Lube Mobile to do your service you’ll only be without the vehicle for as long as the service or repairs take. We’ll complete the job and hand you back the car as soon as we’re finished. This means that you won’t need to give up the car for an entire day, or wait in a line as everyone else picks up their vehicle.

How often should I get a Holden service done?

Holden’s that have passed their warranty period should be getting a Holden service completed at least once per year, and more if you're driving over the average amount of kilometres per year (about 15,000km). This is enough to be certain that everything is kept in good running order. If it has been more than a year since your last service, we’d recommend booking in for one of our more detailed services, you can call Lube Mobile on 13 30 32, and we’ll make a suggestion that is suitable for your vehicle.

If your car is still within warranty, we’ll follow the frequency as set out in your vehicle’s logbook. This can vary depending on the specific age of your car. Many people think that they need to make use of any offered Holden fixed price servicing when their car is under warranty. But this is not exactly true, you can still shop around for the best deal possible, and many local mechanics, such as Lube Mobile, can complete suitable warranty services on your car.
